{21ST CENTURY UN-MUNDANE SCI-FI POLITICO-SATIRIC NARRATIVE RHETORICAL-VERSE SONNET THINGY}

FADE IN ... A (full-fledged) science fiction tale

begins ... Obama's writing out a check

to "Rewind Co." "10 million." This week's SALE.

Half price to change this timeline. Now a wreck.

Of course that's just the cost to send one line

(no more than four score characters) through time.

Remove one foot from mouth. One "don't-do" sign.

A message that suggests a heinous crime?

Sometimes a name, and "kill him," is enough.

A Leno joke, but doesn't mean not true.

No one should think Obama isn't tough.

But Wright's got force fields wired into each pew.

WHAT MESSAGE WILL OBAMA SEND? (And how

will he be sure he ought to do it "now?")

{21ST CENTURY UN-MUNDANE SCI-FI POLITICO-SATIRIC NARRATIVE RHETORICAL-VERSE SONNET THINGY - PART 2}

LAST EPISODE Barack was chewing on

some words to send himself a week ago.

TONIGHT in newsrooms lights begin to dawn;

tomorrow's leads: "Obama 'Side-lines' Woe?"

"'Reality's Been Forked Again!' Bill Claims."

"'It Can't Be Done,' Says Caltech Physics Poll."

"Did China Rewind Last Olympic Games?"

"Was Big Foot Spotted On The Grassy Knoll?"

(How long can I roll on without a plot?

Wait, isn't plot old-hat this century?

In any case this sonnet's gone to pot.)

There was no headline of a tragedy ...

... involving Reverend Wright that I can find.

And in the polls Obama's still behind.

["correction"/rewrite of last line of PART 2 :)]

But for Obama polls are now more kind.

{21ST CENTURY UN-MUNDANE SCI-FI POLITICO-SATIRIC NARRATIVE RHETORICAL-VERSE SONNET THINGY - FINALE!}

As Battlestar Galactica arrives

in orbit with the Cylons close behind,

A REMNANT OF DEMOCRACY survives

in some _____ corner of Obama's mind.

The message that he sent himself reversed

some surface symbol flows, but space-down CHANGE

and "Second Coming!?" headlines now have cursed

old plans of earth-bound victory; DERANGE ...

... THE MEDIA beyond its ape-shit norm:

"Is Gaius Balter Reincarnate Christ?"

"Support For Cloning Shifts from Cold to Warm."

"Will 'S[i/e]x-for-All' Soon Be Much Better Priced?" ...

But anyway ... What message _____ ____ send?

"Quit arguing. SPEAK BEAUTY 'TIL ... THE END."

LINES 10-12? Yes, semi-slothful vamping, again. :)
Whatever headlines you like. (As long as they're
iambic pentamber and cdcd rhymed, of course,
and uh, perhaps alluding to BSG2 is nice, ... ;) -
