A POSTMODERN/RHETORICAL ADVENTURE THROUGH THE GOSPEL OF JOHN IN SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET FORM

GOSPEL OF BOKE {67 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_67_01}   "FOR JUDGEMENT I AM COME INTO THE WORLD

{GOB_67_02}   THAT BLIND MAY SEE, AND SEE-ERS BE MADE BLIND,"

{GOB_67_03}   said Jesus ... where SOME PHARISEES (not curled

{GOB_67_04}   to strike / just hanging 'round / not too unkind) ...

{GOB_67_05}   ... ASKED: "Jesus, are we also blind?" // CHRIST SAID:

{GOB_67_06}   "If ye were blind, then ye would have no sin.

{GOB_67_07}   But now ye say ' We see, ' and so instead

{GOB_67_08}   of innocent, you're guilty, my good men."

{GOB_67_09}   AND WITH A BREATH... A PARABLE BEGINS:

{GOB_67_10}   "He ent'ring 'mongst the sheep NOT through the gate

{GOB_67_11}   BUT by some other way succinctly pins

{GOB_67_12}   a thief-and-robber label on his fate.

{GOB_67_13}   But he who enters by the gate makes clear

{GOB_67_14}   HE IS the Shepherd. HIS VOICE His sheep hear. {>>>}

GOSPEL OF BOKE {68 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_68_01}   CONFUSION REIGNED... So JESUS made it worse:

{GOB_68_02}   "I tell you truly, I'm the sheep gate door.

{GOB_68_03}   Before came thieves and robbers with no verse

{GOB_68_04}   the sheep would hear. But my voice sheep adore.

{GOB_68_05}   I AM THE DOOR ... COME through Me to be saved.

{GOB_68_06}   THEN ye shall come and go to pastures full

{GOB_68_07}   of all you need ... and safety from depraved

{GOB_68_08}   invaders come to steal and kill -- who pull ...

{GOB_68_09}   ... the wool across your eyes and then destroy.

{GOB_68_10}   BUT I WHO AM GOOD SHEPHERD GIVE MY LIFE

{GOB_68_11}   TO SAVE MY SHEEP. My own. No hired sheep-boy

{GOB_68_12}   who sees a wolf and runs -- his language rife ...

{GOB_68_13}   ... with shit 'bout poor/lost sheep, but does not care.

{GOB_68_14}   WOLF COMES / DEVOURS / Sheep scatter everywhere.

GOSPEL OF BOKE {69 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_69_01}   "THERE'S OTHER SHEEP I HAVE / Not of this fold.

{GOB_69_02}   Them also I must bring / They too shall hear

{GOB_69_03}   My Voice and come / Because they know this bold

{GOB_69_04}   Expression of God's Love / Devoid of fear."

{GOB_69_05}   "I AM," SAID CHRIST, "Good Shepherd / And I know

{GOB_69_06}   My sheep and they know Me / Like as God's Son

{GOB_69_07}   I'm known by Him // AND I LET My Life GO --

{GOB_69_08}   To die to save the sheep /AND WHEN that's done ...

{GOB_69_09}   ... TAKE BACK My Life AGAIN / I have the pow'r

{GOB_69_10}   to lay My LIFE down / Pow'r to lift it up.

{GOB_69_11}   No one can take it from Me / But the hour

{GOB_69_12}   will come I freely take the dread-filled cup ...

{GOB_69_13}   ... My Father has commanded me to drink."

{GOB_69_14}   (The Jews were quite confused 'bout what to think!) {>>>}

GOSPEL OF BOKE {70 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_70_01}   YES, THERE WAS A DIVISION 'mongst the Jews

{GOB_70_02}   because of what Christ said that blew their minds.

{GOB_70_03}   "He hath a demon!" / "Crazy!" / "I refuse

{GOB_70_04}   to listen to him." // BUT one ALSO finds ...

{GOB_70_05}   ... THIS point of view: "No demon speaks like this.

{GOB_70_06}   And can a demon give the blind his sight?"

{GOB_70_07}   YES, Jesus was not easy to dismiss.

{GOB_70_08}   For some, they had no choice but see the light ...

{GOB_70_09}   ... however baffling that light place might be.

{GOB_70_10}   A MOMMA ON A FARM takes her son's bowl

{GOB_70_11}   of cereal he will not eat AND SHE

{GOB_70_12}   with infinite surprise FINDS one WORM-HOLE ...

{GOB_70_13}   ... that sucks her to the middle of this scene

{GOB_70_14}   and does her country best to intervene. {>>>}

GOSPEL OF BOKE {71 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_71_01}   "WHY ALL THIS RUCKUS? Why don't y'all just read

{GOB_71_02}   the Bible?" MOMMA SAYS and dries her hands.

{GOB_71_03}   THE JEWS and JESUS doubletake, then plead:

{GOB_71_04}   "Dear God, remove this woman whom the sands ...

{GOB_71_05}   ... of time have somehow dropped into our laps."

{GOB_71_06}   [Somewhere a monkey-bot / A monkeyshine]

{GOB_71_07}   BUT MOMMA won't be sassed and spreads some baps

{GOB_71_08}   among some heads (excepting one divine) ...

{GOB_71_09}   THEN JESUS SAID, "You're time has not yet come,

{GOB_71_10}   mam. THESE folks here / have never seen the book

{GOB_71_11}   you take for granted. / Momma, they're not dumb,

{GOB_71_12}   just agitated in this space-time nook.

{GOB_71_13}   When you go back, re-read with fresher eyes.

{GOB_71_14}   I do not speak as straight 'as the crow flies.' "

GOSPEL OF BOKE {72 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_72_01}   MEANWHILE ... NICOLE and PARIS dry the tears

{GOB_72_02}   of boy-who's-lost-his-mother-down-the-sink

{GOB_72_03}   (he thinks, not having in his tender years

{GOB_72_04}   the worm-hole physics knowledge not to blink ...

{GOB_72_05}   ... if momma pops 'cross two millenia

{GOB_72_06}   while pouring out a Bran-Buds/boy mistake.)

{GOB_72_07}   [GOD LAUGHS while scribbling marginalia

{GOB_72_08}   on Boke's strange gospel / Keeping Cow awake!]

{GOB_72_09}   THE JEWS and JESUS now have lost their place

{GOB_72_10}   and must start over. / MOMMA's had enough,

{GOB_72_11}   and by her force of will (and God's sweet grace)

{GOB_72_12}   pops back into the kitchen where it's tough ...

{GOB_72_13}   ... to get her boy to nurs'ry school when he

{GOB_72_14}   is "making time" with rich girls on TV.

GOSPEL OF BOKE {73 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_73_01}   CLICK. WINTER IN JERUSALEM / THE FEAST

{GOB_73_02}   OF DEDICATION / JESUS ON "THE PORCH"

{GOB_73_03}   OF SOLOMON ... Jews ask to be released

{GOB_73_04}   from their confusion: "Jesus, can't you torch ...

{GOB_73_05}   ... these parables? Speak plainly! Art thou Christ?

{GOB_73_06}   ("The" Christ / Messiah / Prophesied to come)

{GOB_73_07}   "I'VE TOLD YOU, BUT your reason pulls a heist

{GOB_73_08}   and robs My Words of meaning -- ALL, not some. ...

{GOB_73_09}   You aren't My Sheep. If you were you could hear

{GOB_73_10}   My Voice. But you can only hear the sighs

{GOB_73_11}   in your own head the devil's stuffed with fear.

{GOB_73_12}   My Father (God) and I are One." // "That buys ...

{GOB_73_13}   ... a stoning in these parts for blasphemy!"

{GOB_73_14}   [If you and I lived then, we might agree.] {>>>}

GOSPEL OF BOKE {74 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_74_01}   "I'VED HEALED the sick, the lame, the blind. For which

{GOB_74_02}   of these good acts will you stone me to death?"

{GOB_74_03}   "YOU'VE MADE YOURSELF A GOD! That's how you stitch

{GOB_74_04}   your bur'al shawl to smother blaspheme-breath."

{GOB_74_05}   "Does not your [Jewish] law say ' Ye are Gods? '

{GOB_74_06}   HIT PAUSE TO NOTE that Jesus knew His text.

{GOB_74_07}   [Sweet Cow knows everything, and Sweet Cow nods.]

{GOB_74_08}   Christ's hermeneutic muscles always flexed ...

{GOB_74_09}   ... enough to put text-bullies in their place.

{GOB_74_10}   But bullies who can't win within the law

{GOB_74_11}   won't hesitate to nullify your case

{GOB_74_12}   with bullshit / or with bullets / stone to jaw.

{GOB_74_13}   The murderers of prophets won't be stalled

{GOB_74_14}   for long by argument /The Truth's black-balled. {>>>}

GOSPEL OF BOKE {75 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_75_01}   BUT IF you want to kill God, you must wait

{GOB_75_02}   'till God is ready. "My time is not yet."

{GOB_75_03}   AND SO (again) Christ slipped away / His fate

{GOB_75_04}   on God's timetable / See his silhouette ...

{GOB_75_05}   ... beyond the Jordan / near the place where John

{GOB_75_06}   the Baptist baptized Jesus / where John said

{GOB_75_07}   "Behold the Lamb of God." / The dove/baton

{GOB_75_08}   of God's most holy Spirit on Christ's head ...

{GOB_75_09}   ... [or something like that. Dove work's fine for me.

{GOB_75_10}   Much better bird, than cow or monkey-butt

{GOB_75_11}   upon your head -- at least hygienic'lly ... ]

{GOB_75_12}   AND AT THIS JUNCTURE, GOD IS YELLING "CUT!"

{GOB_75_13}   "Go eat some breakfast, Boke, before you write

{GOB_75_14}   that ' Paris Hilton's shorts are mighty tight. ' "

GOSPEL OF BOKE {76 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_76_01}   A GIRL IN CHINA playing on The Net

{GOB_76_02}   with Flying-Saucer-Monkey based in Rome

{GOB_76_03}   but landing on her cellphone / Noisy pet:

{GOB_76_04}   When she succeeds, he pops his saucer dome ...

{GOB_76_05}   ... and celebrates "in Monkey" / Not Chinese:

{GOB_76_06}   For that she'd have to find the Monkey-bot

{GOB_76_07}   who's vaguely picking up the subtleties

{GOB_76_08}   of Chinese symbols ev'ry Beijing tot ...

{GOB_76_09}   ... is mastering before the age of three.

{GOB_76_10}   Since A. I. monkeys' egos are immense,

{GOB_76_11}   he thinks that he can do some poetry

{GOB_76_12}   in Chinese symbols without making sense...

{GOB_76_13}   "If Boke can write a gospel-wormhole-sink,

{GOB_76_14}   then I can write Chinese!" (a monkey-wink)

GOSPEL OF BOKE {77 of 154} -- by BOKE (duh!)

{GOB_77_01}   TOMORROW, BOKE (MIGHT) WRITE : ... SEE Jesus yank

{GOB_77_02}   poor Laz'rus out of heaven to his grave

{GOB_77_03}   so he can walk back out / His folks will thank

{GOB_77_04}   God for this miracle / and Jesus wave ...

{GOB_77_05}   ... in some high faces one more murd'rous thought:

{GOB_77_06}   Since Laz'rus back-to-life scores Jesus points

{GOB_77_07}   and easier than Jesus to be caught,

{GOB_77_08}   just buy another round of fun'ral "oints" ...

{GOB_77_09}   ... and stick poor Laz'rus back into the ground.

{GOB_77_10}   THE LAZ'RUS PING-PONG PARABLE [OK?]

{GOB_77_11}   [FROM HEAVEN: "sorta negatory" sound.]

{GOB_77_12}   But as the Jews and Jesus start to play ...

{GOB_77_13}   ... with ping-pong Laz'rus, LAWYERS diagnose:

{GOB_77_14}   "The Laz'rus/Buffy parallel's too close!"
